Karate South Africa (KSA) head coach (youth) Brando Pillay passed his referees kata(forms) exam with flying colours at last week end’s World Youth Cup 2016 hosted by the World karate federation (WKF) in Croatia.
Brando who achieved his World karate federation coaching licence for kumite last year during the 2015 WKF youth cup in Europe headed the Team KSA delegation to the World youth cup 2016 last week end in Croatia.
“The said WKF referees course was attended by almost one hundred aspiring referees from around the globe (56 countries) and I am therefore proud of this special achievement moreover attending these world class courses and passing the tough exam at the conclusion of the course is very gratifying” said Brando who also serves as the Technical convenor of karate KZN (provincial karate body).
As a WKF licenced coach the KZN resident Brando can now coach any National team around the globe at international karate events.
The KSA head of technical affairs Themba Ndlovu expressed his delight at the special achievement of Brando “KSA is proud of this remarkable achievement of our head coach Brando especially given that he works tirelessly with our youth” said Themba.
The President of KSA, Sonny Pillay Hanshi, paid glowing tribute to the National coaching commission of KSA “our coaches like Brando Pillay are making great strides in the international karate arena around the globe and as President of KSA I look forward to them mentoring the karate youth of KSA so the sport of karate can be taken to another level.“
