Gauteng’s Dynamic young karate athlete Tiane de Bod, a top prospect who recently won a Gold and Silver medal at the All Africa Games in Cameroon Earlier this year is tipped to win Gold at the World Championships in Tenerife Spain later this year. She was awarded a trophy by African Karate Federation in Cameroon as a top performer. Tiane will be part of the Elite Protea Squad on route to the WKF World Championships.
The young karate athlete who trains in Tshwane has been showing top form since her first International in Corfu, Greece in 2013. Since then she has racked up several medals in South African Elite competition and abroad. She is now the number one ranked athlete in South Africa in her respective categories of kata and kumite. Tiane has now set her sight on the world champs in Spain, October this year and will certainly be hard to beat.
Gauteng Provincial President, Kruben Pillay reiterated that Tiane de Bod’s current form, if consistent, could land her a spot in the South African Olympic squad for the Japan 2020. The young lass a prefect, who is consistently achieving top honours in the academic field has big dreams and intends pursuing a career in law.
